  • Keyword research is vital to ensure that the adverts are displayed to the correct target sector and also cover the search terms that are being used.
  • Brand or product research is vital to ensure maximum understanding of the client's needs.
  • Bespoke copywriting ensures individual adverts are tailored to the target audience but also maximize relevancy.
  • Relevancy is the key to sponsored links at the top of search positions.
  • Planning and strategy is important to maximize the exposure at the optimum time.
  • Optimum time switching is a closely guarded technique used by High Position.
  • In-depth analysis and analytics on activity, competitor trends, budget spend etc.
  • Click fraud protection. All PPC facilities have complex software solutions to minimize click fraud but we go one step further and implement additional software checking to minimize the growing risk from click fraud.

About Pay-Per-Click Advertising

Q. What is pay-per-click advertising?
A. Pay-per-click advertising is a medium whereby you create ads that appear on the major search engines like Google and Yahoo and, optionally, their partnered sites. You will have already seen these ads after performing a search on the search results page. Pay-per-click ads appear at the top and more often on the right hand side of your search results.

The owners of these ads only pay when someone actually clicks on their ad - thus "pay-per-click". Google also offers image ads on partner sites, however these ads are priced on the cost per thousand (CPM) model.

Q. Will pay-per-click advertising really drive more visitors to my site?
A. Absolutely. Pay-per-click advertising allows you to target people that you believe will be interested in your services or products. Quality ads ensure web users know what your site is about before they click your ad. So, not only will you get more visitors, you will get an increase in genuinely interested visitors.

While search engine optimization is important, nobody can guarantee that you will rise to the top of search rankings. Pay-per-click advertising however allows you to directly compete with other advertisers (if any exist) for front page placement on search engine results pages.

Q. Is pay-per-click advertising the same as search engine optimization?
A. No. Search engine optimization is a process where you optimize your web site to rank higher in search engine results. It also includes off site methods including increasing the number of back links to your site.

That said, web site optimization can also help improve your cost-per-click campaigns. Search engines reward relevance and as such you can often expect to pay less per click if the landing page on your site for a given keyword/key phrase is highly relevant.

Q. Can anybody use pay-per-click advertising?
A. No. Pay-per-click advertising is not available to web sites promoting gambling, pornographic material or tobacco. Sites promoting hatred, violence, discrimination or illegal activity are also prohibited.

Using Pay-Per-Click Advertising

Q. How much will it cost me to start benefiting from pay-per-click advertising?
A. There are two costs to consider: 1. Our management fee and 2. The costs incurred by your pay-per-click campaigns.

Our fees are set on a sliding scale which adjusts to suit your budget. Basically you just need to determine your total online advertising budget. We can then tell you how much goes towards our management fee, and what will be spent on your campaigns.

Q. Where do users end up when they click on my ads?
A. You tell us! We recommend however that the landing page is relevant to the ad and keywords you are targeting. If you aren't sure, let us determine this for you.

Keep in mind that you can have a different landing page for every keyword/key phrase if you like!

Q. How do I know what my budget is being spent on?
A. We report on your campaigns. We aim to be completely transparent in the application of our services and you need to know if your investment is paying off. You can also log into your accounts directly to see how things are going.

Q. What happens of my budget limit is reached?
A. If your budget is exhausted, your campaigns simply stop running. We can however set daily budget limits and ad rotation schedules to ensure maximum exposure each day. This way you know you're ads will display right up until the end of each month.

Q. What happens if my budget limit is not reached?
A. While our management fee remains the same, any unused campaign budget remains in your account - that is, it rolls over.

Q. Does the quality of my web site matter?
A. Yes it does. Driving visitors to your site is only half the battle so you want to make sure visitors to your site convert to sales, leads etc. An attractive, well designed site will go a long way towards converting users into customers.

You will also benefit from lower cost-per-click (CPC) rates if the landing page has relevant content.

Experience in the PPC market.

Rank Market is responsible for individual campaigns that cover budgets totaling hundreds of thousands of dollars and strategies that may have hundreds of individually written adverts. Our experience in this sector of SEM enables us to understand the precise mechanism that Google uses to determine factors such as relevancy and quality, both of which drive the potential for sponsored links at the top of search results rather than at the right hand side, see below.

When to use Pay Per Click (PPC)

There are a variety of reasons to use PPC advertising, in many cases PPC is now used because of the failure to gain natural search positions, however, there are good reasons to utilise paid search even outside of a rational organic search strategy.

  • Getting to market quickly – Product launches, law changes, new services, special offers.

  • Seasonal trends – Christmas, summer, winter holidays and many more.

  • Loss of profile – If a website loses its profile then PPC will offer a quick fix to page 1 positions.

  • Market sector – In many markets there is a market share (typically 20%) that PPC can tap into.

  • Corporate Communications.

Pay Per Click – Paid Advertising – Paid Search – The growing market

There are many terms for Pay Per Click advertising, paid search, sponsored advertising and paid inclusion are all used by the industry. In recent months the trend for PPC has been driven by the increasing failure of product and brand sites to gain organic search positions. This has led to an almost lemming like charge to get listed using paid search facilities.

At  Rank Market  we believe that PPC can form a vital part of any strategic SEM plan, it offers a fast route to market but can also deliver good ROI when managed correctly. Our experience in this sector has proved time and again that Pay Per Click advertising forms a natural part of the overall strategic plan but it must be a bespoke and carefully planned approach. A huge number of marketing agencies have given up on organic search engine optimization and implemented a sole PPC solution for their clients, this is not the way to get the best from any marketing budget.

Due to the way sponsored advertisements are now displayed there is a 20% sector that will click on a paid search listing, so it goes without saying that there is an ever present market sector that can be targeted through PPC. It is important though to ensure that budgets spent on this market sector deliver maximum ROI It is also known that in some industries it is difficult to achieve that ROI and this is where marketing agencies are failing their clients, pursuing PPC strategy purely because of their failing in delivering natural search positions.
